RE: Thinking of buying the Fleetwood E1

Ruide,
Can you tell me where you got your 'camper caddy' for your clothes at? I would love to have one of those too.

This past weekend we went to Alpena Michigan for a color tour. The campground is Campers Cove Park.
Full hook up with cable and wi-fi.
WOWOW---what a great looking campground. Love all the colorful trees. Thanks for sharing.

Lawrence,
Sorry you missed that epy on RVTV. It does show a second time during the week. I am not sure which day, so check your TV listings.
Annetta,
Thanks for the idea on how to make those bench covers. I will have to buy us another tablecloth and do that soon too.

Here are pics of Hilton Head RV Resort and Marina.
Click for pics.
Lawrence,
This RV resort was highlighted on this week's show RVTV. I guess you saw that epy?
So do you own your spot at this resort? Are PUPs allowed to stay there? Why I ask (besides owning a PUP) during the RVTV segment, they flashed a quick shot of a PUP in one of the spots and I was not sure if they were allowed in this resort. Since so many of those high-end RV resorts only allow the larger RVs/Motor Homes.
Thanks for sharing the photos...that place looks great!

Lithia Springs CG, Lake Shelbyville, IL site #89. This was a beautiful site with lots of "yard space". We loved it!!

I enjoyed all your photos...very nice spot indeed.
BTW...where did you get your picnic tablecloth with matching bench seat covers? I have a patriotic tablecloth, but not the bench seats covers. I really would love to have those too.

RE: Are there other RV-Camping shows on TV???....

Dutch Oven Cooking with Butch Welch is on the RFD TV network
Thanks for this info! I just did a search for it, and got it set up for auto-record on my TV! I just love this show.
Also to the other poster...can't wait to see the RVBuddies TV show! Thanks for the heads-up about it.

Are there other RV-Camping shows on TV???....

Are there other RV-Camping shows on TV other than RVTV? :@ Just wondered if I was missing some.
There used to be RV Roadtrips, which I thought was a total joke of an RV/camping show, but now it is not showing any longer.
Also, many years ago...there used to be a cooking show that showed 'Dutch Oven' cooking. That REALLY was a great show (IMHO) for outdoor cooking over an open fire for campers. Just wondered if that is being shown anymore? I really miss that show a lot.
So if anyone knows of any RV or camping shows on TV...please let me know what channel they are on. I have Dishnetwork.
Thanks!

RE: RV TV SHOW!!!

Personally I think that the new season's RVTV show has greatly improved. Not only are the 'Cooking Ladies' gone (sorry, ladies) but there are better segments showing smaller campgrounds which are more family friendly and made for smaller RVs. Being an owner of a PUP...I like to view campgrounds like that and not always have to watch reviews of the resorts that only ALLOW big rigs!
Also, the RV Education 101 segment is great. Really informative and helpful.
The cooking light segment is OK, I would still rather they incorporate more 'outdoor cooking' on the open fire. But at least they speed through (with their camera work) the stirring and chopping part of the show, which we all know how to do--DUH. :S
I just hope these improvements will continue on RVTV, because last season I was FFing through most of the show and only watching about 5-10 mins. of it!

RE: How has everyone else's summer been?...

I thought I would share some our camp-out photos from this summer with all of you. We have been camping in this area several times for weekenders,in the Red Feather Lakes, CO area this summer. On two camp-outs I took quite a few photos of our weekend-camping. We boon-dock in this area....far away from the crowds in the tall Pine Tree forest.
Below is our camp-out we took with some friends of ours:

And then one the DH and I took alone:

We really enjoy camping in this area and try to go as often as possible throughout the summer. Hope you enjoy the photos.

RE: share your "vintage" RV pictures

Thanks to everyone for the comments, but I think my camera is giving the cabinets more justice than they deserve.
My wife is great with tiling projects (did her mom's whole kitchen backsplash and countertop and her bathroom counter), and she's going to do a mosaic-style counter directly over the green.
I may replace the hardware and the carpet/linoleum and see how it looks.
Any way you slice it, the couch is getting replaced. The cushions are NASTY from sitting so long, and the pattern is horrible and stained.
BUT, my wife is BIG into retro-style stuff so we may do a faux-70's/modern deal... who knows?! We are at the design part of this project anyways, so there is plenty of time for ideas!
At any rate, can anyone recommend a good aluminum polish? I'm going to get started by refurbishing the bare aluminum "stripe" down the sides and around the back to a mirror finish. Should provide a nice contrast to the semigloss paint I have picked out.
Sounds like a great plan! You are very lucky to have a wife so talented to be able to do the tiling for you! Please do share photos (if possible) when you have your renovations completed. I really would love to view them.

RE: how to attach shelf liner, and drying towels on the road

Get one of these to either use in your shower or just install it in a room where the length fits to hang your towels on:
Link
We have used these in our camper before and they work great.

RE: Does that carpeting outside trailer help keep dirt out?

YES! We have used this type of carpet outside of all our PUPs since we first started to camp! And we have been camping now for over 28+ years. It most certainly cuts down on the dirt going into the camper. Also you can sweep the dirt off easily and hose it down (if needed) to get mud off and it dries really quickly.
We also have a small rug inside the PUP right at the door...for a final wipe of the feet.

RE: share your "vintage" RV pictures

well call me old fashion but from the pics I saw it looked to be in pretty good shape on the inside why change it especially if everything works
Ohhhhhhhh ITA with the above post!!!(Reference to FleaM35A2 trailer)
The inside is so 'classic' with the avocado and orange. I can understand wanting to fix it up and make sure that the stove/heater/elec., etc. works well, but if it were myself, I would not take out the counter-tops. I would try to fix it up more in the 'retro' style. Maybe not as bright of an orange/flora pattern on the couch, but I would certainly try to get some type of material that fixed in with the year the trailer was made.
I have seen so many 'older' trailers that were fixed up 'retro' and they really look all that more special staying in style of the year they were made, instead of totally making the insides look like they belong strictly in the 2000's style.
Whatever you decide to do...please share photos of your renovations with us. I would love to see how it all turns out. She is a beauty for sure!!!
Good Luck!
